Rwanda Play For Hope has begun a coaching network where coaches receive continuous training from both local and international coaches. In addition, 36 teams have been formed for boys and girls to work with a trained coach to radically transform their lives through basketball and soccer. Burundi Play For Hope has run sports clinics in Burundi for over 3,000 youth. Each clinic is run by international and local Burundian coaches in partnership together to spread hope and joy to the youth of Burundi. US Play For Hope is currently investigating partnerships with inner city communities in North Carolina to begin mentoring youth with the explicit purpose of the youth gaining a vision for their future and revitalizing their communities. Such mentoring will culminate with the youth taking a trip to Africa to experience another culture and learn how they can impact the world and those around them. Further announcements are expected by late 2012 to early 2013. A Play For Hope US website will be available in the near future. |
