Today we used our day off to go to Lake Kivu, which is the body of water that separates Rwanda and Congo. We took the four hour trip to the lake to spend time by the waterfront playing in the sand and water, playing sand soccer, and making sand castles. There was a blend of Europeans, Americans, Rwandans, and Africans at the lake. The last two days have been different for us. Yesterday, we were in America....or rather at the US Embassy around other Americans. It felt like we were back at home. And today i felt like I was at an American beach. The place was really nice, comparable to any beach resort in America.
