Kid Got Skillz! PDF   E-mail

Crazy fact, July 4th is liberation day in Kigali.  It's the day where Kigali was freed

from Hutu rule in 1994 so the whole city celebrates.  How did I celebrate?  I

went to the U.S Embassy to celebrate America's independence!  Got to meet

other Americans that are here doing various work and was able to eat a hamburger

for the first time in over 6 weeks!  Burgers and fries...can't have independence

day without it!

What we did today...

We were able to work with some kids at a school today. There were some kids

around that were not part of the school but rather local street kids. Brian and I

took some of the younger kids and set up drills for them to do so they wouldn't

have to sit around and watch the big kids have all the fun. We were amazed at

the skill level of these young kids. They were possibly the most skilled kids we've

worked with all summer. It's in times like this where I can only wonder what can

happen if these kids receive proper sports training. May we be able to fulfill our

vision of having coaches reach out to kids throughout the area and helping kids

develop their God-given talents.
