Yesterday we had a great day. Olivia had a ball at the clinics running around with Teo, our wonderful driver (last day though today:( ), playing soccer, doing summersaults and doing other kids stuff while Ira and I were able to help coach stations at the clinics and assist the Rwandan coaches so that all the kids got some attention and had the opportunity to improve their soccer skills. At the end of each clinic we gather to pray and share a message. Sometimes one of the Rwandan coaches, sometimes one of the muzungus (whities)speaks, each day we have had an amazing turn out and I know just spending the time to love on these kids each day has been enormous. We are almost always busy with two clinics per day and errands and organizing in between, but I am soo so pleased to meet the Rwandan coaches and community leaders who are dedicating their time to these kids. That is what I feel will really make the difference...these coaches who will continue to build relationships and be a part of these kids lives for years to come as they grow. It is important that we continue to support them, encourage them and pray for them. I feel that already the kids look up to these guys and have benefited from having a positive authority, or mentor, in their daily life. So many of the kids we are working with have absolutely no home, no family, no nothing except the tattered clothes on their backs...and to have someone who truly cares for them and will continue to meet with them weekly (and help to meet their physical and spiritual needs) is HUGE!
