About Our Academy

Where: Masaka, Kigali, Rwanda

What We Do: Heroes Academy helps vulnerable and forgotten youth, including but not limited to homeless youth, to have a safe place where they can develop their talents, learn to dream, and become the future heroes of Rwanda.  All athletes live at the academy with their coaches where they train, attend school, are fed, and are discipled. The academy is officially recognized by the Rwandan Football Federation.

Our Goal: Our goal is for each of our athletes to realize their full potential in sports, life, and as men.  We place special emphasis on helping our athletes so that they are capable of playing sports at the highest level, even professionally.

Number of Athletes:  18

Athlete Age Range: 11-16

History: Heroes Academy was founded in 2012 in response to a number of our athletes who had been living on the streets losing their ability to stay where they had been living. We did not know how they would continue to eat, participate on their teams, or have a hope for the future. With the help of our friends such as you, we were able to open a soccer academy that would help vulnerable athletes in Rwanda pursue their passions and dreams.
